Log every buy and sell, or import a sheet. Gains are matched FIFO, oldest lot first, per coin, at the flat 30% + 4% cess rate under Section 115BBH.
Runs entirely in your browser: nothing you enter or import is sent anywhere.
The simplest way to use this is just typing in each buy and sell. Have a file from an exchange instead? Skip to import a file below.
Auto-detects Binance, WazirX, CoinDCX, ZebPay and CoinSwitch exports. This needs your raw trade history (a list of individual buys and sells), not a tax-summary or P&L report, since those won't have the columns this needs.
The Schedule VDA export splits each sale by the FIFO lot(s) it drew from, so every row has one acquisition date, cost, consideration and income figure. The CA summary opens your browser's print dialog; choose "Save as PDF" there.
No, by design. Section 115BBH bars setting off a loss from one VDA transfer against gains from any other transfer, including a different sale of the same coin. Each sale's gain is taxed on its own, and a loss on any sale simply isn't deductible, matching how the ITR's own Schedule VDA totals only positive entries.
FIFO (first-in, first-out): each sale consumes your oldest unsold buy lots first, in the order you bought them. If you bought 1 BTC in January and 1 BTC in March, a sale in June is matched against the January lot first.
A flat 30% under Section 115BBH, plus 4% health and education cess on that tax amount, for an effective 31.2% on the taxable gain, regardless of how long you held the asset or your income slab.
Section 194S requires 1% TDS to be deducted on many crypto transfers at the time of the transaction. That TDS is an advance against your final tax liability, not the full tax itself. You still compute the full 30%-plus-cess liability and subtract whatever TDS was already deducted to arrive at what you owe or are owed back.
Binance, WazirX, and CoinDCX (Spot Orders) export formats are auto-detected directly from their column headers. CoinDCX Insta Orders, ZebPay, and CoinSwitch are supported on a best-effort basis pending a fully verified sample. Any other exchange's Excel or CSV export can be mapped manually using the generic import.
No. Everything, including file parsing, FIFO matching, and the tax calculation, runs in your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server. Your entries are saved to your browser's local storage only, so they survive a refresh but stay on this one device.
It's formatted to match the ITR's Schedule VDA row structure (date of acquisition, date of transfer, cost, consideration, income) to make transcribing easier, but it's a calculation aid, not tax advice. Confirm the figures with a Chartered Accountant before filing.
